Annual Parish Meeting
Annual Reports were distributed and all were encouraged to read them so they could appreciate all the work that has been done this past year. Minutes of the 2011 Annual Parish Meeting were summarized. Fr. Kelsey read his Rector’s annual report. Collette Suhr reported that $47.50 was redeemed from the Box Top labels we saved during the year. The money was used to purchase a case of peanut butter for the backpack program Fr. Hogue announced the following appointments for 2012: Senior Warden, Terry Haney reported that two Vestry members are ending their term: Chris Kelley has completed his term, and Vic Brenizer will not be returning to Scottsbluff. Steve Trickler will stay on the vestry. He had completed the remainder of a vacated position. The following were nominated for open vestry positions: We are canonically required to have six members on the Vestry. We now have seven members. The By-laws state that we can have up to nine members so we still have two open spots. Anyone interested in being part of the vestry was asked to contact Fr. Kelsey. Financial reports were summarized. The Foundation balance remains slightly over $1,000,000. Our remodeling expenses were covered without decreasing the corpus of our investments. Our 20% interest in the Safeway and Goodyear buildings has helped us meet expenses. We should not, however, assume that this will always continue. The tenants at some point may decide to relocate. That would leave us with a major deficit. The budget submitted to the Vestry showed a deficit again this year. Our pledges continue to decrease. We have a number of people, however, who give but who do not pledge.
Church attendance has remained fairly constant through the last five years. The number attending the 8am service has increased slightly and the number attending the 10am service has decreased slightly. This consistency in overall numbers has also been reported by other main stream churches in the area. The meeting adjourned at 6:55pm
