Kelsey Hogue, Rector, St. Francis Church, Scottsbluff, NE

Kelsey Hogue was born in Bedford Indiana and moved to Colorado in 1964. He attended high school in the Denver area, and graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder with a BS degree in business administration. After college he was self employed as a contractor, tax accountant, and financial planner for sixteen years. During this time, he was enrolled to practice before the IRS and was a Certified Financial Planner. In 1988, Kelsey relocated to Berkeley California where he attended the Church Divinity School of the Pacific.

 In 1992, he received his Master of Divinity degree from CDSP and was ordained to the Priesthood.  Kelsey has served congregations in Granby, Kremmling, Pagosa Springs, and Basalt, all in Colorado.  Prior to accepting the call to be our rector and pastor, he served as the Bishop’s representative to the twenty four Episcopal congregations in western Colorado. In 2000, He was made a fellow of the College of Preachers at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC.

 Kelsey has extensive training and experience in small church development, conflict management, and organizational systems. In August of 2006 he was called by the vestries of St. Andrews- Scottsbluff and St. Timothys- Gering to show us how to merge our congregations. In September of 2006 we began worshipping together and on January 11, 2007 we officially became the Episcopal Church of St. Francis.

Father Kelsey and his wife Debbie, have two adult children, 2 grandchildren and a border collie named Molly.
